North East
The North East of England is known for outstanding natural beauty and variation and the many places of worship scattered across the landscape contribute to the richness of the area. From the great cathedral at Durham to small churches tucked away in quiet villages, places of worship help to bring communities together and provide a feeling of unity. These invaluable resources are maintained through the cooperation of countless volunteers.
Working to support these volunteers is Project Officer Alaina Schmisseur, who is a part of the SPAB Maintenance Co-operatives Project. The Maintenance Co-operatives Project exists to provide support, training and advice to volunteer groups and to develop additional network resources for those who look after places of worship in their community.
